Chipside wins Global ICT Excellence Award
This week, Chipside won the prestigious Global ICT Excellence Award 2019 from the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA). The Public/Private Partnership Merit Award recognises our success in partnering with local councils in the UK to provide digital ticketing and permitting services.
TechUK, an organisation representing around 850 UK companies, nominated Chipside for the WITSA award. The judges then assessed Chipside on the ability to use resources and expertise to deliver digital transformation to public infrastructure and how Chipside was playing its part in advancing the use of technology in local transportation services.
Simon Spier, head of international trade at TechUK, says: “Chipside is an example of a UK company that has used digital technology to transform an industry – in this case parking services for local councils. Chipside is a great example of “best of British” technology and we are proud that their nomination has resulted in this award.”
Paul Moorby, CEO Chipside, received the award when he joined more than 2000 influential technology industry leaders, government officials and academics from around the world at the World Congress on Information Technology.
“This award recognises the hard work of our team and the positive results we have delivered for local authorities across the UK,” comments Paul Moorby. “Our technology helps our customers to manage transport flow and parking in a smart and cost-effective way. MiPermit is helping to reduce costs and also offers the public an improved experience with parking and obtaining permits. To date, more than three million people use MiPermit services and we expect this number to increase with smart city investment.”
Earlier this year Chipside won a Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation 2019 and we have also been nominated for Technology Business of the Year in the British Business Awards.
