Chipside CEO Paul Moorby appointed Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA)

Our CEO and founder, Paul Moorby, has been appointed a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA) for his contribution to UK innovation in the parking industry and promoting Great Britain’s forward-thinking technology across the globe.

RSA’s aim is to bring about change in the world, by working with powerful organisations and diverse communities. It is a global community of more than 30,000 problem solvers that shares its vision and values to provide practical solutions to resolve challenges.

Following in great footsteps

The Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts is an award granted to individuals who are believed to have made a significant impact towards social progress and development. Previous Fellows have included Stephen Hawking, Benjamin Franklin, Karl Marx, Marie Curie and Charles Dickens, so Paul is joining an illustrious roll call.

A passionate advocate of innovation for the benefit of the local economy and public wellbeing, Paul has promoted Chipside and UK technology capabilities in Europe, the Americas and Asia. In the last six months alone, he has joined a congress of 2,000 technology leaders in Armenia to discuss smart cities and travelled to Saudi Arabia and Australia as part of Department for International Trade’s (DIT) mission delegation.

Supporting local governments

Paul and the rest of the team here at Chipside work with more than half of UK councils to provide parking and permitting solutions, with our system deployed by over 130 local authorities across England and Wales. Chipside’s MiPermit platform has helped almost three million people benefit from cashless parking in the UK and continues to work with policymakers to serve the interests of society.

On his appointment as a Fellow, Paul Moorby says “I look forward to joining a global network of inspiring people who want to make a positive impact on society and to contributing to RSA’s work.”

He says, “Our main purpose at Chipside is to provide local authorities with solutions to empower their residents and visitors through digital transformation, so this is a fantastic opportunity to exchange ideas with thousands of likeminded individuals.”
